Staff came outside to greet very friendly. Every dish was special, flavorful, and beautiful. Staff was well trained and introduced every dish in detail 👍 8 or 10 course menu to choose from and they change menu every 5 to 7 week. Highly recommended!

Oryz is helmed by Chef Chris Fong from Singapore. With a pedigree from Andre and St Pierre, it was no wonder that his culinary creations were so exceptional. The theme for tonight’s dinner was Hong Kong so the menu featured Cantonese dishes which were elevated by technique and ingredient. The highlight for me was the fish and the char Xiu. All the protein were cooked to perfection, well seasoned and had the right balance of flavours. Although they tasted familiar, there was much more finesse to each dish. The wine pairing was also quite reasonable. Given the price point, this restaurant is indeed a gem which you should appreciate before it gets discovered.

Had a very interesting experience with Oryz last night. Food was too good have no word to explain and had a perfect portion for one. Chef Chris pour a lot efforts and always got the food out so fast and precise. Love the clay pot rice, very stand out from other fine dining concept. Service has good knowledge of the dishes and very friendly. Worth a try and will come back when they launch their next menu!

Unique menu, delicately and beautifully decorated dishes, an explosion of taste, for me especially the first dumpling dish, chicken dish and char siu dish. The tomato egg sauce dish is not very special, the rest are all worth trying. Intimate space, beautiful lighting. You can see the kitchen counter and see how the chef prepares the food. Dedicated and professional service, I was most impressed that within the first few minutes, the staff very cleverly recognized that I was left-handed and set up the items according to my preference. Well worth experiencing and enjoying!!

Delicious and unique food. The waiter explained each dish in great detail and interestingly. I chose the 8-dish course, priced at 1280k, a very reasonable price for such a luxurious and delicious course. I like the service. Thu is very friendly and pro about the food

Highly recommend for an delightful fine-dinning experience. Chef's attention to details (taste / decoration / service / ambiance) was impressive. The ingredient was perfectly played in each dishes: balance of flavors & textures. Each course was a true pleasure, complemented by attentive service within nice ambiance of dinning room. The experience of Oryz started when we alighted our vehicle. The warm exterior lighting and the stone steps into giving a glimpse of the wonderful dining experience later. Our waiter share with us some of their specialities as we peruse their unique scroll like menu written on bamboo and cloth. We decided to go ahead with the set meal, which changes every 1 to 2 months. The bread basket was one of the best breads I've tasted, warm and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Some notable dishes are their deconstructed Vietnamese sour fish soup made with trout from Sapa, carefully played and layered to minic the rice terrace of Sapa. Even the bones of the trout is edible. I was pleasently surprise at the incredible taste. Followed by their reimagined shrimp and winter melon dish, inspired by the traditional shrimp and winter melon soup. The shrimp cake was delicious, and for someone who doesn't like winter melon, I finished all of it. And the bulgogi risotto. Very interesting take on the Korean mixed rice. The wagyu beef with rice was definitely some of the best beef steak in Saigon. Lightly charred and crispy on the outside. Tender and soft on the inside. Highly recommended for a meal of Asian fusion and reimagined Vietnamese dishes. Will definitely be back again.

Many attractive Asian fusion dishes from the chef such as Hue Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup, or Bibimbap and especially Chicken Pho Stick made from crispy fried quiche with rich aromatic sauce, etc.

Amazing creations by the Chef with subtle but expertly executed fusion dishes Updated - 25th February 2024 3 months ago when i first had the opportunity to experience ORYZ through the recommendation of a friend, i was skeptical as having had many sub-par experiences with Fine Dining restaurants, i was expecting the same concept and dishes. However 3 months on, I can indeed say i'm a real fan of Oryz for the following reasons. I've tasted every single menu from the first season (experimental), second season (Sichuan inspired) and the current season (Hong Kong) - which is by far my favorite. 1) Constant Innovation and Creativity : The seasonal, thematic menus are a work of inspiration and creativity in itself. Many fine-dining establishments stick to what works and it sticks to what is comfortable. No doubt this is a recipe for success however the menu gets tired. Oryz sets itself apart not just by its PRECISION and ATTENTION TO DETAILS, but its spirit of CONSTANT and RELENTLESS innovation and going against the grain. 2) Relentless Innovation : Beef Pho interpreted as a dessert? Unthinkable! But executed with so much finesse and sensitivity that it in itself is a cheeky work of art. Many of the dishes are rooted in tradition and are tastes we are all familiar with, however under Chef Chris's relentless pursuit of research, creativity and innovation, I am constantly amazed at how simple, childhood dishes can be levelled up into works of refined art that tastes similar to what is familiar, yet exciting and adventurous. 3) GREAT Teamwork : Oryz is helmed by Chef Chris, but his competent team of chefs, assistants and staff make the entire experience delightful. To have a vision of one own is important, but to be able to translate it down to the last man, to share the same vision is leadership at a high calling and level. Every dish is plated, presented and concocted with fine precision and attention to details that it is mind-boggling. 4) Wallet-friendly prices : I've been to fine dining establishments that come close to the level of sophistication in the dishes at 2 -3x the price. Oryz positions itself as a "Casual-fine dining" but the precision of dishes is anything but. Expect great value, and great experiences as Oryz. Oryz functions on a great model to build loyalty and repeat patrons, now that I have completed seasons 1-3, i am eagerly anticipating season 4 and beyond. Great Job Chef Chris and team! You deserve every customer that returns to Oryz

Not your average modern Asian restaurant, Oryz leans towards East Asian (China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan) and has a fermentation room on the third floor where all things curing, pickling and fermenting come to life - definitely recommend! Another really interesting aspect is Oryz's wine and beverage selection - sparkling sake from Japan, Silverheights wine from China (Ningxia) as well as homemade fermented Kombucha. Definitely a go-to even for those who are non-alcoholic. The traditional Chinese lotus tea alongside its ritual is also a standout feature here. On the service front, the staff are very knowledgeable about the products, presentation and technique. I must say the service here is very impressive especially in a country where service can be a hit and miss. Best part? The price. For an 8-course tasting menu, Oryz's menu is 1,280++ not including alcohol - about half (or 2/3) of what other tasting menus out there in Saigon.

Both à la carte and set menu options cater to a variety of palates. A particularly commendable mention goes to a staff nicknamed "Micky Mouse", whose attentive service and thorough explanations elevated our dining experience. A standout dish was the cured meat glutinous rice, a delicacy that requires 20 days of meticulous preparation. All in all, dining at ORYZ Saigon was a thoroughly satisfying experience.

Have you tried modern Asian cuisine yet? It's a delicious fusion of traditional Asian flavors with a contemporary twist! Your taste buds will thank you to stop by Oryz which is likely one of the best / humble opening in last few months. Wine pairing with Sparkling Sake is definitely a must to try. Looking forward to return when the whole menu will be in place (still soft opening). Ps: Service is very good, waiters English flawless and keen to explain the dishes and journey you are going through.

Top notch for the price, can't find anything better in HCM. Love the food, ambiences, decor, especially the waitress named Micky Mouse. She was amazing and tentative. Definitely benchmark setting, good job, Oryz Saigon team!!!
