I was lucky enough to dine at Oryz Saigon recently with some good friends. The meal was an absolute delight, a spectacular culinary journey. The flavours so diverse and reminding us of different experiences around Asia. The presentation was a real art form - must have taken so much time and care in preparation. We were worried that it would be too much to eat , especially when we went for the full 15 courses - but we felt very content and not uncomfortably full by the end of it (and im so glad we did not miss out on the beef and Nasi Lemak - as they were two of my favourites] . We were served so well by delightful young waitress - Ms Nhi - who looked after us - she introduced the courses with great care . A fine dining experience that would match some of the best in the world. I'm sure a Michelin star is not far off- fantastic experience - beautiful food. Good luck to the talented chef and his partner.
An amazing place to have a dinner date or a smaller group of 10, maybe 12 people. We tried their 15-course tasting menu from Nanyang, paired with three types of wines and every dish was thoroughly designed and prepared. Be ready for a tasting adventure, there is a lot to experience with each dish. Our waitress was excellent, paid attention from the first minute we stepped in until the end, she also explained how to eat each dish and how to use the complementary box which came out with every course. You cannot go wrong with Oryz if you want to try some fine dining or simply, impress your other half. Kudos for giving us a table by the window with plenty of privacy since no one sat next to us. Will be keeping an eye on their seasonal menus and will definitely come back. Thank you!
The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. We notified staff we had another booking after dinner and they accommodated for us, ensuring we didn't have to wait long between courses which we really appreciated. The food was delicious, and while I wasn’t blown away, nor was it to my personal taste, I can still appreciate the creativity and effort put into each dish.
Second time back to the shop. Delicious food, prepared quickly and thoughtfully Beautiful presentation
What a gem! The food inventive and service impeccable. Will definitely return when in HCM.
Amazing experience from start to finish, was visiting from London and stumbled across this restaurant on Google. Our waitress Nhi was extremely attentive and made sure to give us a lot of knowledge about our food. Did the 15 course menu and every course was delicious, definitely come with an empty stomach as they don’t skimp on the portions! High attention to detail really elevated the dining experience.
I had a great experience at Nanyang-style Fine Dining. I made a reservation a month in advance and it did not disappoint! It has only been open for 8 months and has been recommended by Michelin. The price is really affordable among Fine Dining! Around 100USD per capita, The chef once stayed at ANDRE in Singapore, and it really feels like Taiwan’s RAW. It’s all Jiang Zhencheng’s. btw my boyfriend said it tastes better than RAW😜! Next, there are the waiters and sisters~ Each of them introduces the meals to a very high level, and their English is pretty good, basically no accent at all! Today there are three girls serving us: NHI, THUY, and QUYEN~ Whether they are delivering food or pouring drinks, they are very neat and concise with a smile! It’s really nothing to say how many times the dish was served~ There was a surprise at the end of the checkout. One of the founders was Taiwanese ~ we chatted a lot! Thank you also for telling us many details about ORYZ! I really recommend everyone to try such a different Fine Dining!!!
ORYZ Saigon, which was just recommended by Michelin this year, is a very unique Fine Dining restaurant. I really like the Nanyang theme this season. The 15 dishes are all very exquisite and delicious. We especially like the dishes inspired by classic Nanyang delicacies such as Bak Kut Teh, Chili Crab, Kaya Toast and Nasi Lemak. It reminds us of our travels to Singapore and Malaysia, and we are very happy to have this wonderful dining experience.
If you're a food lover exploring Ho Chi Minh City, do yourself a favor and book a table at Oryz Saigon. My partner and I, visiting from Australia, were absolutely blown away by the entire dining experience here! The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, with just the right touch of elegance. But what truly made the night memorable was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Special shoutout to Huy and Do Nhu, who were incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. Oryz Saigon’s concept is both unique and inspiring. Each menu theme changes every few months, and during our visit, it was inspired by Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine. They elevate classic dishes by deconstructing and reconstructing them in creative ways, while still honoring the authentic flavors. It’s clear how much thought goes into each dish – they even present a “primary ingredient” in a small box with details on its origin and flavor profile so you can truly appreciate how it’s used in the dish. Such a unique touch! The ingredients were top-notch and treated with so much respect. Some highlights for us were the Assam Laksa with beautifully smoked fish – refreshing and bursting with flavor; the Chilli Crab, which delivered all the bold flavors of traditional Singaporean chilli crab in a refined way, complete with perfectly paired dipping bread; and my personal favorite, the Pongteh Beef made with A5 wagyu, which was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Every course of this 15-course experience was a delight we didn’t want to end. We also tried their kombucha pairing, and let me say, it was some of the best kombucha we've ever had! The flavors were complex yet refreshing and complemented the dishes perfectly – a surprising and delightful addition to the evening. We also had a chance to chat with one of the co-owners, who shared the restaurant's story and passion. She was lovely, and we look forward to talking more with her next time we visit! In short, Oryz Saigon is an absolute gem. The quality, creativity, and attention to detail rival any fine dining experience, especially at its current price point. If you’re in Ho Chi Minh, don’t miss it – I wouldn’t be surprised if prices rise as word gets out, but even then, it’s worth every penny. 10/10 experience.
Thanks. clear. waiter service The service was very attentive. Nanyang meals. Everything is amazing. Looking forward to the new menu next time
Excellent fine dining experience that is worth your time. A wide range of different flavors with a great story. Huy was a very attentive staff that explained each dish, the heritage, and the chefs interpretation.
Comfortable environment and friendly service Nanyang cuisine brings both visual and taste enjoyment Looking forward to the new menu next time
Every dish is amazing, the chef’s intention can be felt through the dishes, it’s a great store (Xiao Que is lucky that the boss is Taiwanese)
Glad that we found this gem. The menu was so well designed, interactive , showcases amazing executions and awareness of the foods origin. It would be nitpicking to say that the drinks weren’t as good, tho staffs were very knowledgeable and practiced good tea serving.
The "Nanyang" set menu at Oryz Saigon is a beautiful culinary tribute to the flavors of the Nanyang region, especially inspired by the local cuisine of Penang. With 15 thoughtfully crafted courses, each dish offers an exciting journey through the rich food culture of Southeast Asia. The meal begins with a delightful Kaya toast and kopi, setting a warm, nostalgic tone. One highlight of the experience is the ‘chili crab sauce’, which stands out for its perfectly smooth, rich texture and savory flavor. The presentation is exceptional, with each dish arranged like a work of art, enhancing the ambiance of the restaurant. The "Nanyang" menu delivers an immersive cultural and gastronomic experience that brings Southeast Asia’s flavors to life. Highly recommended for food lovers and cultural explorers alike.
This is the best Asian fine dining with Chef’s Tasting Menu in Saigon. Compared to Japanese omakase normally focuses on seafood ingredients, the ORYZ uses local ingredients mixed with Southeast Asian flavor. Every dish is unique and the flavor is special. We can feel the chef's effort and also the waitress's detailed description. Must will try the next season's new menu.
Very unusual culinary experience - an Omakase-type "Deconstructed South East Asian Food" dinner. Singaporean Chef-Owner, offering a full palette of tastes and flavours.
We came here on holiday from Australia and was looking for a nice dinner to end the trip. It was an absolute stunning experience with the current ‘Nanyang’ Menu offered by ORYZ. Without exaggeration this is the best fine dining experience I’ve had to date (across multiple countries). The chef’s excellent combinations, presented a fun alternative to traditional dishes. This is probably the only restaurant that’s gotten me excited to come back to try their future set menus (changes every 3-4 months). Lowkey a bit sad I never got to try any of the previous menus. PSA: this is a must try!!! and quite frankly if you don’t experience it for yourself- you’re missing out! We were really well looked after by our servers Quyen and Thuy. We also got the chance to have a chat with one of the co-founders of ORYZ at the end. She was super nice and told us a bit about their restaurant, concept and philosophy of the food. Very honestly, their Michelin selection and 5/5 google rating is extremely well deserved.
Dinner in the evening on 10/13 The food in the restaurant is quite delicious😋 There are many unexpected items. It is recommended that you order 15 dishes. The Vietnamese sake list and red and white wine provided are all great. I recommend that if you have time and budget, you can come and experience it in Ho Chi Minh City🎉 The service staff at BTY are so awesome and professional, and the atmosphere in the store is great. It’s a great date place😍
